BPS Review : Under the Sea

Press Sample

Hello! Today I am super happy to get started on my reviews for the Born Pretty Store! Now since its summer I went with a very summer theme, and well I love beachy themes so it goes right along with everything I love!

Today I have for you some Under the Sea nails, featuring some Sea Turtles from BPS!

So first up lets talk the turtles! First off they are adorable!!!! I mean just look at them, perfect for any sea turtle lover. :) I'm loving them. Now to talking about using them! They come in a package of to many to count which in my opinion is a good thing! One side of the turtle has a gold-ish finish, and the other a silver finish. Personally I'm a silver girl, so it's neat this package gives you the choice. They came in a little plastic bag that had a sticky close verses a zip close. The sticky close to me for how tiny these are is not the best solution. With their size and flexibility I think they should be in a zipper bag or a little plastic container like rhinestones come in. Applying them is super easy long as you didn't deform them while getting them out of the bag. :) Just apply them right after top coat while its wet! I applied another top coat on top afterwards to help reduce snagging!

Over all for these little sea turtle I really like them! They are fun, unique and perfect for a summer mani. The only thing I would like to see different is the packaging!

Now for the rest of the look! :) I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White for my base. I only did one coat so it was streaky but it doesn't matter for this design! After my white I used many acrylic paints. For the blues of the water in the deep sea I used a fan brush and many many shades of blue, and a hint of white every now and then!

After that I used a dark gray and added the ocean floor and rocks along with some distant fish. Next I added some bright colors for the corals and neat sea life! :)

Then I added my top coat and my turtles! ;) The top coat really brought the whole mani to life! Since I was using acrylic paints for the details they dry matte and when you are doing it it looks just eh, but then the top coat comes along and brings all the colors in and it looks so different!

Now if you are interested in these turtles you can find them HERE . Also BPS recently put out an app that you can use to order and they put up special deals on there. One really neat thing about BPS is that they always have free shipping AND for my readers/followers you can use 25SPW10 for 10% off your purchase. So if you are interested in these turtle be sure and check all of that out! :)
