Hey there everyone! Hope you are having a great day, today I have a lippie post for you! This summer I have just been loving basically all lippies. I feel like they are the final step to completing a look which is weird because I never used to be all that into lipsticks. However in the past year or two that has changed. So today I am going to share my experience with the new SuperStay Matte Ink lips from Maybelline.

Top : 20 Pioneer
Bottom : 15 Lover

So I was sent these from Influenster and have had them for about half a month. I thought about posting about them right away but then I was like wait, I should wait. I decided putting off posting for a bit allowed me to truly test them and give you a more in depth preview which I thought would be nice. Its not uncommon to try something and think you hate it right away or love it right away, yet then after a bit you change your mind so I wanted to be able to share it all in the first go ya know! :)

So first up is my favorite of the two! This is number 15 Lover. Its a mauve-y pink that is just lovely. Its one of those colors that will do with almost anything. Definitely a color I have been enjoying this summer when I don't want to wear a super bright lip or a vampy lip. A good in between. This and the red one both have the same formula so I am going to chat about that below!

 Now when I first pulled the applicator out of the bottle I noticed that the opening it quite tight. I get that it needs to be to pull off the extra product but its a bit too tight I think because it literally makes the product flip out and around. I was in my bathroom and opening it over my sink/counter and thankfully it only landed in the sink and not on my clothes. So that is something to be aware of so you know to be really careful. I think we all use the mirrors in the car to put on lipstick from time to time and if you are in the car you could easily get it on the dash, visor, or your outfit and not have an easy way to clean it up, so its best to take precaution!

They do have a slight scent. I feel like Lover has a fall scent and the red one has a similar vibe but it is a bit more chemically. However after you put it on the scent dissipates which is good.

The formula on both colors are quite sticky. This does make applying it a bit more tricky than say an NYX Liquid Suede one. However you can get good lines with the applicator. I did notice there is a whole in the middle of it which I still am not sure I like. It makes it a bit harder to get it all on in just one swipe ya know?

Now this is a matte finish according to the packaging, also it says to let it dry for about 5 minutes before touching your lips together. Hummmm.... Nope. They take much more than 5 minutes. I think it was about 45 minutes before it was finally matte. Even then it was still a bit tacky feeling. They tacky feel lasts a long time I do have to say. The first time of wearing it I did not like that. I put it on about an hour before going out for pizza, and it was a bit tacky when we got there. It wasn't until after the pizza that it finally got rid of the tacky feeling.

Now you maybe thinking, Well if its not tacky after pizza thats because its gone. That was not the case tho, it looked perfect after pizza. It didn't even transfer to my straw. I was super impressed. Another day of testing it I wore it starting at like noon, and I just kept it on all day. 10pm came around and it looked perfectly fine. I then meant to go remove it but ended up falling asleep, and when I woke up the next morning it was still there! So when they they say it last for 16 hours they actually mean 16+! :)

This is number 20 Pioneer which is a really nice true red. I actually wore this for the Fourth of July. Had it on from 10am all day through a cook out 101 degrees walks, a boat load of puppy kisses, fireworks, and hanging out with family and friends until 1am. Needless to say I am impressed!

Overall there are things I don't like, like the tacky feeling lasting so long, but I love the lasting power!  Its nice to know I have something I could put on for a day of errands, and take a water bottle with me, drink out of it and not have and transfer. Also I have deemed these as Dixie Proof. If you don't know who Dixie is, she is our Cavalier King Charles that I consider as my little sister. Anyway anytime we come home she is always happy to see us and usually showers us with kisses! Usually I have to be careful otherwise she ends up licking my lipstick off and then having it on her face! Ha! However this one she sure tried to get off and never did, so its now deemed Dixie Proof! Hehe!
