Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

Hello there everyone! Hope you are having a great day! Today I have a few swatches for you as well as a video and some art! Sally Hansen recently re-formulated their Insta-Dri polish collection and Influenster sent me a few to try so I thought I would share my findings with you! :) Most displays that these are with in stores claim that these polishes are one coaters so today I am going to put that to the test!

So as you can see from the video these polishes do not live up to the "one coater" claim but they are still great polishes either way! I was really impressed overall so lets take a look at these polishes up close.

Sally Hansen Heather Hustle

First up we are looking at Heather Hustle! This is such a nice light lavender shade. The formula was so nice and applied really nice and creamy. While it still needed 2 coats it still covered amazingly and evenly. I think the more this polish is open and has a chance to be contact with air it may actually end up being a one coater.

Sally Hansen Heather Hustle

The formula while applying the polish is really nice and all, great coverage but one thing I did notice is that it runs down the brush really fast so you do have to be careful to not get too much on your nails. Overall though I really loved this polish. I was honestly surprised how much I liked it!

Sally Hansen Petal to the Metal

Now we have Petal to the Metal which is a pink toned metal which is quite lovely. This was again just like Heather Hustle. Its so close to being one coat but I could still see through it so the second coat was needed. Regardless of that the formal was great. Again it did also run down the brush quite quickly so you do have to be careful but it was still easy to work with.

Sally Hansen Petal to the Metal

Both of these polishes have a really nice and wide brush which makes you have very few strokes to cover the nail which again was something I really liked. Overall even though these weren't 1 coaters I really liked them. Plus in my opinion even if it were a one coater I feel like 2 always feels more complete. However I do love a good one coater as a base for art. That all being said I also did do some art with these. I used Heather Hustle as my base and then I used a vinyl from Snail Vinyls to put on a cute heart print with Petal to the Metal. Then I added some abstract black bits to add a little something different!

Sally Hansen Nail Polish Nail Art

Well guys that is it for today I hope you have enjoyed this post! I thought these polishes were actually really good and great for $3-$4 which is exciting! If you guys have any holiday post requests be sure to let me know because its almost time! :)

Happy Painting!

  4. I generally feel more comfortable doing 2 coats even if a polish is incredibly opaque, I have to paint so perfectly if it's just one coat.

    1. Exactly. That second coat lets you make everything perfect. One coaters I like for art where I am mainly going to cover up all of it anyway! Lol!

  7. I've liked Instra-Dri polishes in the past, so I'd probably like these too. The wide brush always put me off a little, but the product formula is still pretty nice.

    1. The brushes are definitely a hit or miss when a brand decided to go large but I think they do a good job. I have used this since posting and Its already thickening up... kinda too fast. Its making me wonder if its going to become hard to work with! ekkkk!
