Nail Care Favorites

Hey there everyone! Hope you had a great weekend and I hope you are having a great start off to 2016! This is the time of year where we all set goals and try to be really good right? So what better time than now to start yourself on a good nail care routine! Plus if you have some Christmas money these are great products to treat yourself too! Now I didn't always have a "nail care routine" but ever since I started blogging I can say I have for sure. It started out small and not very accurate but now I have a great routine compared to the last time I wrote one of these last year. So I thought why not share what products I am loving right now and use daily!!

This stuff is amazing! I splurged a bit this past September during the 31 day challenge of nail art and it was so worth it! This product is a bit on the higher side price wise but it will last you a very long time, and you will notice a difference! I use it at least once daily and sometimes even twice when I remember, and honestly my cuticles are so much better. I've never been a fan of cuticle oils really just because of the oily feeling and now with using this I really don't need to use cuticle oil which is fabulous in my mind! It has a lemony smell that is really light so you don't notice it too much either which is great. I know some people can be sensitive to certain smells but with this one smelling like lemon I feel like it's almost a neutral scent. This is only available at Lush, which is a great store if you've never been, but if you don't have a Lush you can always order it online as well! You can find it here. Now if you are in Lush and find other things that you want to try but aren't actually sure about just ask. Every time I have been at Lush they are always super nice and let you try things and go home with samples.

This one is new to my routine but I already love it! I am super picky when it comes to full out lotions too! It can't be greasy, and it can't be one of those that after 5 minutes you feel like you have super dry hands and you have to go wash your hands to get the moisture back in. This one doesn't do any of those! It makes your hands feel super nice and it smells nice! I have the Grapefruit + Aloe one, but there are many more options! Also there are many size options when buying this one! This is probably the biggest size offered if not the biggest size! It's 6.7 fl oz and actually came in a set that included it and a matching body wash that I've been enjoying as well. :) Now where to find this amazing stuff! Well you can find it at Ulta, but I know some other places that have it as well but for much less! Also if you are out looking for this they do have a hand creme as well. I tried both before getting one and I found the hand creme much greasier. Just and FYI! :) Now those other places! :) We have been seeing this at TJ Maxx (in stores not online) and Marshalls (in stores not online) at much lower prices. Full size and travel size! Sometimes even a little set of two for $5 or $6! If i find a mini set I will pick one up I think so I have one for my purse! Also if you have a Nordstrom Rack check there! They had a ton before Christmas! Sadly they don't sell it on the Nordstrom Rack online store.

3. Flowery File
Everyone needs a good nail file right? Well finding the perfect file is not easy but I've finally found my personal favorite! This picture above is showing a green side and a yellow side, which are different grit numbers. Not sure which side is what number side because the packaging has no specific numbers but the green side would be considered a medium grit. You can use it on your natural nails to take down length. Then the yellow side would be a higher grit, and it's great for evening out the nail edge/smoothing. I use it daily and it's what I use to round off my square edges just so I don't snag on things. Now I realize all of that terminology may of been confusing so let me help you! I still get confused with grit numbers! :D lol!! So a high grit means a fine file, and a low grit mean a very coarse file. So in other words just by touch a high grit will be smooth and then a low grit file would be very rough to touch. Now hopefuly I didn't confuse you too much! I use this Flowery one everyday! It's a perfect 2 in one. I have only seen this one at Ulta, and it comes in a two pack! So one for your nail area and one for your purse if you are very oraganized or one for the desk and a back up! Here is the exact link to the one I am using and that is pictured above! :)

4. Cuticle Pusher Backer

We call all push back our cuticles with out a tool I know, but having a tool to help is great! Mine looks like the one above but I have a few different one! After I use my Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter I use this and just push my cuticles back while they are soft. It's super easy! You can get these pretty much any place that has nail care/beauty items. They come in plastic, and metal. I personally prefer plastic and then if not plastic I will use a orange stick! :D I'm not sure why but the metal ones scare me a bit! Maybe I shall face my fear and try one! Now this next little bit is kind of related yet not! When you are in a store looking for a cuticle pusher backer they are usually found near cuticle cutters, and I just want to remind you all... Do not cut your cuticles! They will only come back thicker and then you will just have an on going problem! If you have really bad cuticles that need removing I would suggest trying Sally Hansens Cuticle Remover. It's a much better alternative to cuticle cutting!!

5. Good Base & Top Coat

Having a good base coat is really the key to healthy nails, and a long lasting mani! Top coat also is a key to it lasting as well. I have tried so many base coats over the past so many years, but my hands down favorite is Seche Vite Clear Base! It has the perfect tacky finish for your polish to latch on to and it protects your nails! Now in the picture above I also show 3 of my top favorite top coats! Seche Vite Fast Dry Top coat is my all time favorite! The next two that are on the left are new favorites that I've been using! Those are Londontown Lacquer Kur Protective Top Coat, and Serendipity Nail Polish Finishing Touch. Both have great glossy finishes. One that I didn't include in the photo was Essie's Gel Setter Top Coat, I have only worn it a few times but I use it on a Friend weekly and she loves it! Also real quick going back to the base coat, if you have weak nails, splitting nails, or nails that just need some help in general I would highly suggest the Zoya Naked Manicure Base Coat. It's amazing and you really can tell a difference after wearing it! If you click on the bases I mentioned above it will take you to where you can buy them! :)

Now there you have my top 5 Nail Care favorites! Now it's your turn to decide if you want to try any! Be sure to check out all of the different places I mentioned that you can find the Bliss lotion! Saving money is always good and I love being able to find good deals! I really hope this post helped you all and or you enjoyed reading it! Let me know what you thought and if you have some personal faves , or questions about any of these, let me know and I will get back with you ASAP! Hope you are all having a lovely Monday!

Best Wishes in all of your new Resolutions!
