Digital Dozen | Throwback Week | Day 1

Eye Nail Art

Hello there and welcome to another week with the fabulous Digital Dozen! This weeks theme is all about Throwback Nails. So I am going to throw it back to all different kinds of Halloween nail art for many reasons. Ha, 1 being the fact Halloween art is tricky for me so this gives me a reason to try others looks, and the 2nd being this will let me redo some older Halloween manis! That being said lets get started!

Eye Nail Art

I am starting out this week with a super simple and fun Halloween nail art look. Goggly eyes are super fun for Halloween and when you throw in some glow in the dark polishes they are even better right? Thats exactly what I have done today. This mani was inspired by a mani done by DripDropNails and The Little Canvas.  Alaina, The Little Canvas, is like the queen of these eye manis and then Drip Drop Nails has a great version of them with neons in the eyes which then led me to this design!

So basically we can call this a Throwback mashup! Plus I really wanted to use these INM Glow in the Dark polishes again. If you read the blog on the norm you may of already seen these glow in the dark polishes reviewed. If you haven't already you should check out the post here and the video here. Literally I used ALL of them!

These were super simple too. I just did a black base, Zoya Willa. Then I used acrylic paint for the white eyes and a dotting tool. Then I repeated that with the glowing polishes and the black varying in sizes! Super quick! Would make a great accent nail too!

They didn't show fabulously in photos but you can still see them so its fun! I was surprised by how much I liked them honestly. Seriously I'm not a halloween fan but I did a whole bunch the other night and throughly had a blast. I'm not sure if it was the success of them actually working or if it was the fact I was obsessed with the new Charlie Puth song and had it on repeat. Also any music fans out there? I think we need to talk about the new Maroon 5. It has me so conflicted. Let me preface this with... I've loved Maroon 5 since the first CD and I mean that was 2002 I was SO young! Ha, anyway I've continually liked them too but the new singles. Ekkk, I like them as songs but they just aren't Maroon 5 songs ya know? I was looking forward to that Maroon 5 sound being back on the radio and so but yeah, that hasn't happened so I'm kinda bummed about that. They are still good songs but not Maroon 5. Anyone else get that? Ok enough with out little music chat, I hope you enjoyed this post, this mani and I'm really looking forward to this week's post so be sure to check back tomorrow!

Happy Painting!

  3. I love the glow int he dark eyes! :) So fun! OK...the Maroon 5 comment, I agree with you...but at the same time music has changed over the last 15 years and many groups are seeing that is how you 1) get new fans, 2) develop your sound and 3) change as a group. I think every group's "sound" changes over time. I love music - pretty much all music. While I do manis I play this game called Song Pop (it's like name that tune where you guess either the song or the band).:)

    1. It has changed for sure! So interesting to see the trends come and go in music, then to see those that become timeless! Like I was listening to a song the other day and it was fairly old compared to most we all listen to now and yet it sounded still current. Then you go and listen to other newer songs and they sound older than those old songs. It’s interesting. Plus you can tell now there are certain songs that will sound new forever and then the others that sound trendy. It’s such an interesting thing to follow! Plus when u listen to sooo many artists you notice it all! The Maroon 5 song with Julia is definitely growing on me. I think one thing I would love to hear back in their music since it is a band would be insturments! Ha, I feel like so many have dropped them and gone automated which can be good but... 😂 All Time Low did a good job of keeping them yet also adding in the automated sound in their new Album. Oh and today in my music listening the new Lauv song came on and it has that new what I am calling “Fresh” sound and he also snuck in a prett great guitar part too which was nice!

I’ve played that game!! It’s fun but eventually I felt like they were all the same songs! Love playing those types of games! Ha, I tried to get people to play a song Pictionary where you have to get the to guess the song by the drawings but no one wanted to!😂😂😂
