Hello and Happy Monday! Yeah I'm one of those people that like Monday. Weird I know but.... :) Today I am doubly happy because I am getting to share the new Zoya Thrive Spring 2018 collection with you! It consists of 6 new colors that are quite lovely! So on to the swatches and todays video!
First up here is a way to check out this full collection in video form! Sometimes seeing is better for some polishes and well I personally love swatch videos so why not do one right! All of the polishes will be photoed and talked about below tho so for those you like written word and pics lets just keep on going!
Darby
2 coat(s)
A dust blue grey that has a bold cobalt shimmer through out the whole polish.
Darby is really pretty. On the computer photo of it I was thinking oooo, periwinkle. In person though its much more of a grey with a hint of blue. Mainly the hint coming from the cobalt shimmer that runs through it. The color + shimmer combo is great! I love it. The formula was really great on this one too! It covered perfectly in just two coats!
Trudith
2 coat(s)
A dusty/muted purple creme.
Trudith is another great formula. Its kind of a duty purple that is a bit darker than what I would think of as spring but it works really well. A great one for those who still like their more muted colors verses jumping into bright pastels. Bright Pastels? That sounds weird but surely you know what I mean! Haha! Anywhoooo, this was really nice to wear and it applied really well!
Monroe
2 coat(s)
A bold raspberry creme.
Monroe is almost a one coater. In a pinch if you are short on time, or you are putting art on top you can totally get away with once coat I think. Probably depends mainly on how thick you did your coats though. Here I did have 2 coats on and it brought it to a nice juicy look. It totally makes me think of spring fruit! :) The formula was really nice and covered really well.
Brandi
2 coat(s)
A dusty dark salmon creme.
This is an interesting color! Its kind of a coral pink but not bright. Some might relate it better with the term of salmon pink actually, but more muted. It is almost a one coater as well. As I type this I am actually wearing in and on one hand I have 2 coats, and the other one has 1. I personally like it better with one coat because its a bit brighter, while the second coat makes its a deeper shade. Still pretty of course it just does really make a difference. The formula was great, nice and easy to apply!
Haruko
2-3 coat(s)
A vibrant light lavender that has a blue/magenta sheen throughout.
This polish color wise is lovely. Its the only one that I has formula issues with though. It was an issue I think of running down the stem of the brush too quickly maybe. It was kind of watery to an extent but not because a lot would come off on to my nails and then kind of run towards the edges then making it a but hard to get even. In my swatch video I think you can see that. As the 2 coats are on it looks rather thick on the edges. For pictures I did them even more carefully and still ran into the issue and it resulted in needing 3 coats for the pictures!
Leisel + Brandi
2 coat(s)
A warm purple/magenta scattered flakie topper.
This polish is a beauty. In the video I did show it on its own in 2 coats and if really was not full coverage so I though it would be best to use it as a topper. Here I am wearing Leisel on top of Brandi. Its lovely and is giving off a very gun purple sheen. You know of those pigments you see people using with gel polish these days to get different finishes? Well thats kind of what I feel like this does. It kind of gives off a mermaid/unicorn vibe that so many are obsessed with. Its lovely, and much easier than a pigment might I add! Also it does remind me a bit of Leia which was in the Kisses collection and in the Bridal Bliss Collection.
Well guys that is it for this post! So many pretty polishes have been released lately don't you think?! Hope you enjoyed these swatches! These polishes are on preorder now and you can find that info here. Did you have a favorite polish in this bunch?
Happy Painting!

ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the Zoya brand. They carry high quality polishes with generally great formulas and competitive prices with other mainstream brands. I wish they had been a little more easily available when I was building my nail polish collection a few years ago, because I almost always already have similar shades when Zoya brings out their new sets. To me, the company seems to specialize in classic colors that you could wear anywhere, even conservative environments; there's nothing too crazy or offensive, ever. And even though the brush is small, it's always been manageable for me and is great for pedicures and those tiny little nails on my feet!!
ReplyDeleteI got these during the pre-order! I love Zoya sets.
