Hello and Happy Friday! Spring Break season is among us so I thought it would be the perfect time to share some quick and easy nail art y'all could do quickly before you head off on any Spring Break adventures. :) So todays blog post includes a quick video on 2 different Abstract Nail Art Designs.
One of the manis is more normal and what most would consider your standard abstract looks. Its actually taken from one I did a while back here and I have revamped! This time I've gone more pastel. Then the last mani is more abstract + girly. So abstract with a twist! For both manis I have used 3 polishes and acrylic paint for a few little details. Below are the polishes I used.
Heroine - Empower-Mint
Heroine - Sugar Spun
Deco Miami - Champagne Mami
First up is what I think is the easiest even though they are both easy! Here I started with Sugar Spun as my light pink base. Then I used Empower-Mint and used the dry brush method and swiped here and there on my nails. If you haven't heard of it before its basically just making it so you have a very minimal amount of polish on your brush and then applying it. Its really easy because you are just using the brush from the polish bottle.
After the mint I did the same thing with Champagne Mami randomly, I tried to do about 2 swipes of it per nail. After that I then used black acrylic paint to paint on rectangles and clusters of 3 dots. Then applied the top coat and it was done!
So for this mani I used the same method. I started with Empower-mint as my base then I did the dry brush method with the rose gold shade. After that I then used the pink, Sugar Spun to create deformed dot. I just used the bottle brush for this, you could use a dotting tool if you would like though.
After that I then added the leaves with green acrylic paint and then did the black detailing like I did in the first mani. The next thing that was different was adding in a darker pink acrylic paint to the flower to give it some dimension. Then its just a matter of drying and top coat and you are ready to go.
Well guys that is it! I hope you enjoyed these looks! They really are quick and the color combos are limitless. I mean just grab your two favorite colors, add in a metal and black and ta-da! Its so fun too! Let me know which way you would wear this look! Also if you recreate it post a picture and tag me or use #sweetpeainspired !
Happy Painting!

yup. Abstract is the bestest.
ReplyDeleteI love using the dry brush technique since you don't have to follow any rules! I love these!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with both of these designs! The first one is extra-special to me because it is just like the curtains in the house my granddad built in the 1950s that I know from old family portraits from the period.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are awesome. I love the touch of black against the pastels!
ReplyDeleteI'm OBSESSED. The roses took this over the top!
ReplyDeleteI really love the way both manis turned out!
