Hello there everyone and welcome back! Its so weird to be on here on a Tuesday with new things, I mean there is just so much to share this week its kind of crazy! Today I will be sharing swatches of the latest Sally Hansens Sunset Splash because the recently added me to the #SallySquad which is super exciting and I am super excited to share new collections with you so thanks to Sallys for inviting me! Now lets get to what you are really here for, swatches and art!
Metro Midnight
2-3 coat(s)
2-3 coat(s)
A lavender with a hint of pink holo.
This polish is really pretty! The formula is nice, it applied evenly but does need about 2-3 coats to reach full coverage depending on how thick/thin you do your coats. The brush is a nice shape so you really get to cover your whole nail quickly!
Sundown Socialite
2-3 coat(s)
2-3 coat(s)
A orange copper pink duochrome metallic like shade.
I think this polish is my favorite of the bunch! Its so pretty and different. Now this is about a 3 coater! I had some issues that caused bald spots. So as I would paint it on it would also pull some of the polish off. Thankfully by the third coat all was covered and you couldn't tell. I think the cause of this might actually be the brush. Its bristles are a little bit thick and pull a lil harder than you would expect even with a light touch.
Bourbon Belle
2 coat(s)
2 coat(s)
A light toned peachy orange.
This is the best creme of the bunch. It covered nicely in two coats as you can see and is a really nice peachy orange.
La Vida Lilac
2-3 coat(s)
2-3 coat(s)
A periwinkle creme.
Love this periwinkle shade! Its lovely on the nails! This is another 2-3 coater and weird enough its due to brush strokes. Now I know when I think of brush strokes I don't think of a creme polish so I bet that sounded weird. So you know how I mentioned I thought the bristles were a bit thick well I think that was the reasoning for this.
Smartease
2-3 coat(s)
2-3 coat(s)
A light pink creme.
A lovely pink shade and I think it looks great once you have 2-3 coats on.
Now on to art because lets be honest that is probably what most of you actually want to see! So first up I just wanted something simple, and easy with the girly pink. So I did some random lines.
There was literally no method to it at all but it came out kind of fun and I decided to keep it on 2 nails, and then tied it all together with the black squares.
Here I decided to mix the two orange shades. I wasn't sure where the design was going I just did the big dots with the brush and then decided to outline in black to give them a defined shape.
Then in the negative space aka gaps I added in random lines and actually like the outcome! :)
Next up and lastly I did this fun lil Ikat design using the periwinkle and pink to bring those polishes together. I think it worked pretty well. I added the pink on just with the normal polish brush and then added the black acrylic paint.
It was a super easy look. I don't really when I did this type of design last and for some reason I think I thought it was hard but it was simple soooo. :) Glad I did it!
Now here is the swatch video so you can see what I was talking about in the polishes and the brushes! Overall though I so love the color selection and for me Sundown Socialite was the start of the show! Its a beauty! So what was your favorite polish or art look? I hope you enjoyed this post. If you are interested in any of these polishes they are available now where ever you can find Sally Hansen Polishes!
Happy Painting!
