Sweetpeas Picks Vol. 31

Hello there everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I think yesterday we had the hottest day of the year, and I was out in it and wow, took the energy out quickly. Today though its dark and stormy and when we had brunch around noon, it looked like 7pm. No Kidding. So now I'm working in the studio prepping tomorrows content, while enjoying a PJ day. Plus I have twinkle lights on, and of course music as well with a rumble of thunder here so its great for getting computer work all caught up. Just got all of tomorrow photos ready actually but I really wanted to get a Sweetpeas Picks up today so lets chat!




1. Wanted to make something a lil different for brunch today so I actually made muffins, and I don't know if I've made muffins before so I wasn't sure how it would turn out. Good news is that they were a hit! I made Peanut Butter & Jelly muffins and used THIS recipe. I accidentally used baking powder instead of baking soda but all was ok! After googling the mistake I found out I could just add more baking powder to make up for it, and It worked. So instead of one teaspoon of baking soda I did 2 teaspoons of baking powder and it worked. Also I used my moms homemade strawberry preserves! SO good! Will be printing and making again! :)


2. Also while talking baked goods, last night we needed a quick last minute birthday cake so I made THIS Tres Leche Cake. I was making it for someone who didn't like coconut tho so I used evaporated milk for my third milk tho, and I think it came out ok! Everyone seemed to like it, I personally think it could have been a tad sweeter!



3. I'm really getting excited for the return of Hot Chelle Rae. Last weekend they posted a sneak preview of a new song called Hate LA, and I'm obsessed.



4. I joined a doodle challenge! As you may know I am working on "arting" more beyond my nails. So I thought joining a doodle challenge would be a fabulous way to practice and try out different styles. I think I was starting to get intimidated by the idea of picking on art style, so I thought this would help. If you want to join in HERE are the prompts. I have posted Day one, but kinda still working on the others. Day 2 was bubbles and I was having quite the ordeal with trying to bubbles, but I think I like it now so I'll be sharing later on my art Instagram , 25 Sweetpeas Designs if you want to check it out.



5.  Tuesday I had a content/brand/brainstorming meeting and it was so fun, and I was all inspired after it. Need to do these more often because its so terrible when you have all of the ideas and then something comes in a swoops away the inspiration.



6. Are you ready for Mothers Day next week? I've been pinning brunch ideas for the past few months so I need to really pick things out. If you want to take a look at what I might be making you can check out the board, here. For some reason I really love planning out Mothers Day, and my moms Birthday. I basically start planning for them as soon as they end! LOL



7. Target has some really cute vases right now in the dollar bins, and they are literally $1, and are turquoise and pink! I love them, I picked up a turquoise one to go on my desk with some coral flowers. It totally matches my desk chair/blanket combo and I love it. If you wanted to do a lil something more with them THIS idea from Oh Joy! Is super cute!



Well I am off to continue working on tomorrows post and video, as well as finish up those doodles. I might actually do that to give myself a lil typing break. :) Hope you enjoyed todays post, I'll see you back here next weekend for another Sweetpeas Picks!
