Hello there and welcome back today I have a new collection to show you from Stella Chroma that is releasing later this month. Its a 5 piece collection called the Desert Scape Collection. Its releasing on May 29th, and today I'll be sharing swatches!
After seeing some inspiration pics for this collection I had a lot of fun putting this lil mood board together to grab some colors and inspiration for some nail art coming soon so I thought I would share it here. Now its time to check out the polishes though, so lets go! Also with each polish the description of the color will be from the maker with a note about the inspiration! :)
Pueblo
2-3 coats
Distinct structures made of stone, wood, and adobe mud look out of place anywhere but the desert. They blend in or stand out depending on the position of the sun. As it rises, it lends a bleached pinky tone to the mud walls and that’s the shade we modeled this color after. The gold/pink shimmer adds an extra touch.
At first I wasn't sure about this color, because this sort of shade often doesn't look great on me, however I really like this! Its got enough shimmer to have it translate to the nail, but also give you the illusion of a creme. So I really like that. This one is the thinnest of the bunch so depending on how you apply your coats you may need 2 -3 coats. I've applied it 2 times now and one needed a 3rd, but the other time I was good in 2 so its kinda just a wait and see because it does self level.
Desert Turquoise
2 coats
I can’t think of the desert without thinking of bright turquoise stones. Either polished in jewelry or rough to the touch, the striking color is unmistakable. Our color is highlighted with a blue/green shimmer.
This is my fave of his collection. Its SO pretty on. Kinda creamy, but still shimmery enough. This had an excellent formula and covered perfectly in 2 coats. I don't often wear shimmers on my toes, matter of fact I usually only wear cremes, but this I am HIGHLY contemplating using next! Its so pretty, and I don't have a polish quite like this. Its a great shade of turquoise that I feel like is hard to find.
Cactus Bloom
2 coats
A buttery golden yellow with a gold/pink shimmer. Smooth and opaque at two coats. Inspired by the deep yellow blooms that contrast the deep green of a cactus.
This is like a water marigold yellow I would say. Its not a color I typically gravitate towards but I think it will be a fun one to use with other polishes in this collection. It has a nice formula and was perfect in 2 quick coats!
Big Sky
2 coats
A vivid blue creme shade inspired by the endless summer sky. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a more beautiful blue than that of the sky above Chinle, Arizona. I tried to do it justice here.
I was so excited about a new blue. I LOVE blue nail polish. This one has a fabulous formula, perfect actually. Its so smooth and creamy. Applies perfectly in 2 coats, and it also shiny even pre-top coat! I just really like its. Now I will say that this isn't a bright cobalt if you are thinking that. Its more of a brighter navy, or a bold nautical navy not cobalt. Hopefully that makes sense to you and not just me. :)
Prickly Pear
2 coats
The fruit of a prickly pear cactus is normally found in a range of shades from bright pink to deep purple. It has been used as food and medicine in many desert climates for many years. This shade is a deep pink-ish purple with scattered holographic glitter.
Now here we have a warm toned purple with a scattered holographic in it and its so pretty. Its a neat addition to this overall collection color story and its really pretty on. I liked it in 2 easy coats. The first coat has a lil bit of a jelly feel but its perfect in 2 coats.
So whatcha think? Fun collection right? Which one was your favorite? I really love Desert Turquoise. I think I will see what I can do art wise with these polishes later on this week! :)
Ok, release details. This collection is releasing on May 29th, noon EST. Each polish will be $12, however if you would like to purchase the collection in full, for the first two weeks of the release you will be able too. It will be discounted for $54. After that though they will only be available individually so keep that in mind when making your shopping list! :)
Thank you, I was curious for swatches of these. Love Cactus Bloom and Pueblo, intrigued by Big Sky as it seems a different sorta shade of blue then I usually see.. but I can't decide if I'd actually care about it in person ;-p
