Chrome Nails Attempt 1

Hey y'all! Hope you are having a nice day! Today I have a post that I'm sure y'all will enjoy! So I'm sure y'all have already seen this magical chrome powder all over transforming nails into a chrome like mirror finish. I am now going to share my first trial with it!

Now first off this doesn't look as great in picture as it does in person! In person it's a lot more mirror like and actually really fun to wear! Now to get this I tried it on regular polish and gel! 😬 First I tried with regular polish. Black polish and a gel like top coat but I couldn't get that to work. However I am not giving up on regular polish, will be experimenting more with it and give y'all an update.

I did use a black gel polish and then the matching companies top coat. It's not pictured. At first when I started applying the powder I didn't think it would work but after some time it started to work! Which was exciting! Which also leads me to believe I may of not tried long enough on regular polish so I will definitely try again and hopefully I find a gel alternative.

I am not a gel fan nor a gel supporter. The only reason I actually used it for this was that I knew I could use a peel off base coat and I then knew the gel would not be a pain. So if you are not a gel fan know you can use a peel off base coat with gel. I just used Sally Hansens big peel. 😊 Also if you aren't a gel fan, I am going to try my best to find a better way! :)

This chrome powder I used is from the Born Pretty Store! They have it at a great price and from my understanding this chrome powder can be a bit pricy, so if you aren't wanting to spend a lot and yet you still want to try this you can here. Plus y'all can use this 25SPW10  for a 10% off discount!

Now I did take some photos outside because I actually think this chrome mani pictures better outside! Also so sorry about the glittery mess all over my fingers! Its super hard to clean up! I wanted to use the peel off stuff around my fingers but I wasn't sure how that would work under the gel lamp. That being said I am going to try and find a way to hopefully make clean up a bit easier and when/if I do I will inform ya'll asap! :)

So what do y'all think? I like the look a lot but I do not want gel to be the only way so wish me luck in trying to find another way! I will keep you up to date with what I figure out!

Happy Painting!

  1. You have chosen such a nice colour of nail polish for your nails and it's looking more attractive, I want to use this colour also, I generally use the latest colour of the Gel Nail Polish.
