Hey y'all! Happy Monday, I can't believe today is the last day of February it's kind of crazy! Seems like we were just starting Valentine's Day nails and yet here we are at the end of the month wrapping up! So I've decided to start doing a Monthly Favorites post! This will give me a chance to share with you all what a few of my favorites were this month. I'm not going to limits it to nails either! It could be anything this month however it's all beauty related! :) As you can tell from the cover photo there are 2 makeup items, and 3 polish items so let's get to it!
First up this month I have fallen in love with Maybellines Fit Me! foundation. This one specifically is a matte finish but you can also get it in dewy as well. It has great coverage and it lasts all day. I haven't had any issues with it. I use the lightest shade there is but they have a very wide variety for all skin tones which is super nice. In the summer I will most likely have to get another one a few shades darker for when I have a bit of a tan. This foundation can be found pretty much everywhere and the prices can vary from place to place so just comparison shop and see who has the best deal!
For where I live this month is transitional weather. We still have a handful of cold days but it's also warming up. With warming up we are wearing a bit more springy clothes and brighter colors so I thought it would be nice to give the vampy lipsticks a break and find a neutral. One you can put on and not worry about matching your outfit and so on, and this is a new favorite for sure! It's by Essence and it's called Natural Beauty 07. If you aren't familiar with Essence it's actually an Italian brand. Yet we can find it in the US. Most Ultas have an end cap of their products. One of my Targets recently started carrying it too! I've noticed that none of the Targets that are near an Ulta have it but others seem too! :) The prices are really nice too! Very affordable and actually good quality too which is just lovely!
Next up is a lovely eyeshadow by Pupa called Ombretto Cotto. It's a "Vamp Wet or Dry Eyeshadow". I've been using it pretty much everyday. It's a great neutral with shimmer. I haven't noticed any fallout which is fabulous. I typically use a brush or my finger for the application of an eyeshadow due to getting better coverage. This one I actually use its applicator and it goes on wonderfully. :) I do use an eyeshadow base for all my eyeshadows, so I'm sure that makes it last longer, but with its pigmentation I think it would last even with out a base. This one I have no clue as to where you would get it besides online. I got it as a gift from a family member who went on a trip to Italy and brought it back and it's an Italian brand.
Now we have my 3 favorite polishes for this month! First we will start with the red which is Serendipity Big Red Bow. It's the perfect one coater red. No staining and just all around perfect. Next up is my new favorite white OPI Alpine Snow. It's formula is really nice and it's great for a gradation base! Lastly is a GORGEOUS new Takko Lacquer called HUG LIFE it came out late January for Valentines Day. Since this one is a glittering one I decided to take some macro pics!
It's just so so pretty! It's a 2 coater and it has so much depth to it! I love it so very much! Which is why it is the base for today's art! :)
For this look I used HUG LIFE as my base and then I used Big Red Bow for the base of my flowers. They rest of the art details were done with acrylic paint. The accent nail was done with one thin coat of Color Club Harp On It and one thin coat of Serendipity Holo-day Lights. It's a great combo!
I love florals and have loved doing them this month too so that's appropriate for this post! :) Well I hope y'all have enjoyed this post! It has been a super fun one to create! Please let me know what you all think of it! Also let me know what you would like to see show up on here next month! I already have some fun things planned but I'm always excited to throw in more! :) Well hope y'all have a lovely rest of your day!
Happy Painting!
