OPI Infinite Shine : Lincoln Park After Dark + Tutorial

Press Sample

Hey there, happy weekend! On this first fall Saturday of the year I will be sharing another polish I received from OPI as part of the PreenMeVIP program! Its Lincoln Park After Dark today. :) Also I have a Youtube video for today! :)

Here we have 2 coats of Lincoln Park After Dark. By looking at it in the bottle its really hard to tell if its a really dark purple or a black. On the first coat you are just sure its eggplant colored and well its still streaky on that coat. So you add the second coat and its now all good but it looks black. :-O Really wasn't expecting it to be so black since I will also actually be reviewing an actual black from the same collection. So over all the polish is good I just wasn't thrilled with how dark it was.

If you haven't seen the past so many posts here are the "Infinite Shine" details, since its not regular polish.

In the world of polish right now there are 3 types of polishes that you hear about. Regular polishgel polish and hybrid polish. Now you may be think hybrid polish? Whaaaattt? Well it's a real thing I promise. It's basically regular nail polish how ever they come more as a "system" with a specific base and top, and you use them all within the same company. Most companies advertise that the manicure will last with no chips up to 10-14 days. The day number depends on the brand. Now you may be wondering where do I find these hybrid polishes and how come I haven't seen them. The answer to that is you probably have seen them and you can find them everywhere! The reason you probably have realized it is that every brand seems to have a different name for them. China Glaze has Ever Glaze, Essie has Gel Couture, OPI is Infinite Shine and so on. They like to compare them to gels saying they last like gels. Now if you are like me and you don't care for gels these hybrids may be a good answer. They are supposed to be long lasting, and they are applied just like regular polish and removed like regular polish, you just have to follow that brands "system"! That in my opinion seems like a do able thing if you want a longer lasting mani and if it truly is long lasting!

Next I decided to put one of my fave dark colored fall designs on it! For some reason I love quatre foil designs in dark vampy colors and in the fall, ha! Plus for this polish I was hoping it would make a bit of the eggplant purple show up. It did a bit but eh. Now I DO have a tutorial on this fine Saturday for you! Its been a bit, even tho I now can make videos again it seems as if the time never allows. :( But this time it did so here we go!

I love how this design looks on! You literally look down at your nails and feel like you have a stamp on and then you realize wait I did that 100% freehand which is great! This look is super easy and I would SO suggest you try it. If you aren't sure about it remember you can leave out those little inside lines AND you don't have to do it on all of your nails. It makes a great accent nail. :)

Well thats it for today! I hope you all have enjoyed this post and hopefully you liked the video too. :) I'm glad I got to make a video for ya. I am actually considering making some pictorials again. I know that would be a bit of a throw back but I think it could be fun for some easy holiday look. What do you think?

Happy Saturday!
