Good morning, boy are we in for an interesting nail week! This week is the monthly Digital Dozen collaboration and this week is Story Genres. Which I'm not gonna lie has really intimidated me. That being said I think my game plan for this week is just manis inspired by books. First up I have a children's book inspired by mani.
As you can probably already tell, this mani is inspired by Rainbow Fish the Children's book. I honestly don't remember it being important to me or anything I just always remember the cover and how it has the "sparkly" scales which led me to thinking it would be a fun mani!
I used Serendipity Nail Polish Vitamin Sea, as my base blue and then used various acrylic paints for the art and the background water mixed colors. For the water I used watered down acrylic blue, purple, and light blue. It ended up being fun to do actually.
I think my favorite part of this mani ended up being the water and the plant life at the bottom, weird, I know! It just actually came out like I wanted it too which is nice! :) What is your favorite part?
Well guys that is it for today! I hope you all have a nice weekend and I will see you back here tomorrow which who knows what! Haha, I'm thinking about doing a mani for the book I am actually writing, that would probably be a bit odd tho! LOL, let me know what you think?!
Happy Painting!

Love your adorable fish! :) I think I remember this book! I love the water color effect you did on the nails - so cool, makes it look like we are underwater.
ReplyDeleteYay! Underwater was my goal!! :)
DeleteI love this. I don't think I know this book, but by the colours on your nails I think that when children would come in my life, I should buy this book ;) Oh and that fish is so beautifully done!
