Public Relations a Novel

Hello there and welcome to day 2 of this book themed week. Now my nails may have you totally confused, you thought this week was about books not social media. Well you are right it is about books and todays mani is inspired by the book I am currently reading! So lets go take a look!

Public Relations a Novel

So currently I am reading a book called Public Relations by Katie Heaney and Arianna Rebolini. Now I'm not super far in to the book but so far its good. Something different and current which is kinda rare weirdly enough. This is considered an any age book its kind of what one would consider New Adult, so its kind of targeted to those in their 20's or 30's according to various reviews I have seen on Good Reads. Its in the normal fiction section at a book store which made me hesitant, I'm just they type of girl who will probably stay in the summer beach reads from the YA section because they are usually the most "current" if that makes sense. However this one caught my eye being about the PR world.

Public Relations a Novel

I'm terrible as describing books though so here is the little description given on amazon, haha!

Young PR star Rose Reed is thrown into the big leagues when her boss leaves town the day of the firm's meeting with Archie Fox, a young, hot, internationally famous British singer-songwriter. The meeting is going badly until Rose suggests a staged romance with up-and-coming, young indie star Raya. He'll do it, but only if Rose becomes his publicist.
As the faux-mance between Archie and Raya begins to rehabilitate Archie's faltering career, Rose finds his herself having unexpected, inconvenient and definitely unprofessional feelings for the crooner. But do late night texts and impromptu burrito binges mean he feels the same? In the end, Rose will have to decide whether to let her fantasy crush go, or to risk her reputation to be with the charming, handsome, scoundrel-y but sweet pop star she's grown to love.
With a razor-sharp voice full of wry humor, Public Relations is a fun-filled glimpse behind the curtain of the PR machines that create our favorite celebrities.

I mean it sounds pretty good right?! So far it has a lot to do with the faux-mance which is actually turning out to be really neat and then about how Rose goes through social media and such. Its just neat because I personally think the power os social media is awesome and to see a book having it not be a negative is nice. ( I know its not all good for all people, but I love it when people use it responsibly and make good out of social media.)

Public Relations Nail Art

So basically the main nail is just the book cover, and then I have different social media apps scattered about. As I said I haven't finished the book yet so I don't know if all of these are use. I do know YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter have all been mentioned so those all seemed fitting. :) Facebook was just kinda thrown in there.

Social Media Nails

The nails were honestly a bit intimidating when the idea first came around but it ended up being pretty fun after all. Plus maybe it will introduce some others to a new book.

Social Media Nails

Well that is it for today! I hope you are having a nice day and I will talk to you soon!

Happy Tuesday!

  2. PR wasn't like this when I was in college - FB was just barely getting invented. I should re-read something like this. :) I love that you created the IG gradient - so pretty.

    1. It really is a whole new thing, and as one who kind of would LOVE to do that as a full time thing with it just only being introduced into schools and such its kinda tricky to go about! I think the PR world is so interesting!
      Thank you so much!
