Paint with Me | Holly & Stripes

Christmas Nail Art

This is crazy, I am back again with another Paint With Me post! How is this even possible?! Honestly I don't know how, but I'm excited about it! Who else is? Today I am using 2 new polishes from Chaotic Glitz that I showed last week here, and I am loving them. SO perfect for Christmas!

On my index and pinky nail I am wearing Tinsel Tidings, and then my ring finger is Festive Fir! Now the only finger left is my art finger. There I started off with white nail polish and then moved on to gold metallic acrylic paint. I free handed the lines and then moved on to the holly. For the free in the holly I used acrylic paint but for the berries I used Tinsel Tidings. I mean who wouldn't want holo berries! :) If you want to see this design come all together you can HERE. I am really trying to make more Youtube videos so you guys can see these manis come to life, plus I think its so fun!

Now in the video I mentioned ways you can get stripes even if you don't want to free hand them. If you don't want to free hand them your best option is a stripe vinyl. However if you don't have any don't worry! You can always use tape, you can take painters tape or masking tape and create your own lines to go buy. If you do that I do highly suggest you lock in your white first with a quick dry top coat and let it dry before applying the tape to your nail! :) Now if you do freehand this I do have a lil tip that you might like to know! First off I put light lines of the gold where I wanted the stripes to be. That was most helpful, it helped give me the full picture to know placement and such.

Now the second tip would be.... Always use colors you can clean up with. Now that may sound weird so let me explain. I started with a white polish base because after I applied the gold paint I would still have white acrylic paint to go and clean up the gold lines with. Whereas if I had started with the gold as my base polish that would of made correcting the white lines trickier. because sheer gold on white is going to take more time to cover up. Did that make sense? I hope so. Hummm, maybe I should make a post on tips about using acrylic paint for nail art. Would that interest anyone?

I love how simple and festive this mani is. Plus I am just obsessed with these festive holos aren't you? I mean they are just perfect for Christmas. What do you think? Would you wear these for the holidays?
