Hello and welcome back! I hope you week is off to a good start, today I am very excited to show you swatches of the brand new China Glaze Summer 2018, Shades of Paradise Collection. It consists of 12 gorgeous new polishes ranging from vibrant cremes, neon shimmers and even a holographic, yep you read that right! ;) Now lets check them out!
All Sun & Games (Matte)

Fiery neon orange shimmer.
This is a nice neon orange even though orange isn't my color. This is a matte polish which makes the formula a bit different. The first coat is a bit streaky and it starts to dry pretty quick so you want a minimal amount of strokes on that first coat.
The second coat really fixes all of the patchy streaky spots which is really nice, and the color is complete in that second coat as well. As for its matte look the camera did not want to focus at all.
So due to that to get the camera to focus and to make the sparkle appear I have a shiny top coat on.
Tropic of Conversation (Matte)
2 coat(s)
2 coat(s)
Orange Coral shimmer.
The coral version of the first polish! Its really a pretty version of a coral but I will say it does pull a bit more orange than most corals.
Formula wise its about the same as All Sun & Games. A little patchy on the first coat but the second one evened it all up!
The shimmer within the polish is really pretty and it shows really well.
I'll Sand by You

Beige with a golden sheen.
This is like the perfect sandy color. Within the bottle you see a golden shimmer but on the nail its sadly no where to be seen. Even though that is the case it does look really nice on the nail.
It is one that before buying you should probably check it out on your skin tone because it probably will not work on all. I was actually surprised it worked for me.
Water-falling in Love

Sky Blue Milky Creme.
I love this color, I think it the perfect sky creme. However I was not a fan of the formula, I feel like it was milky and runny. Now the runny part may fix it self over time the more I have the bottle open but I think the milky part will always be there which is ok it just will take more coats.
It took me about 3 coats to get it all even, I suppose some nails may be ok in 2 coats but for the majority I think all will need 3.
Stop Beachfrontin'

A cool toned purple creme.
This is such a nice purple, bright and happy with such a nice cremes formula and it almost covers in just one coat. Like its that good! Plus it also has a such shiny finish even pre top coat.
So very glossy and I love it.
Boujee Board (Matte)
2 coat(s)
2 coat(s)
Purple pulling more magenta creme.
This is so pretty and has a nice formula for a matte finish polish. I will say that the matte look of this polish would not photograph but you can see it dry as I paint in the swatch video.
As you can see though the shiny top coat really makes it look very nice and glossy.
Kiki in out Tiki
2 coat(s)
2 coat(s)
Bold Red Orange creme.
This is such a great formula and again it has a super shiny finish. Its also really close to being full coverage in just 1 coat but the 2nd one makes any see through spots blend right in and deepen the color to build to the bottle color.
Its a red but I will note that it does pull a bit more orange.
Mer-Maid for Bluer Waters
2 coat(s)
2 coat(s)
Shimmering Ocean Blue.
I love this polish! Its seriously stunning and has an amazing formula. It covered in just 2 coats and came out to a gorgeous finish.
You do need to be a bit mindful of brush strokes but really they tend to even out especially with top coat on.
Ma-holo at Me
2 coat(s)
2 coat(s)
Light Blue Holographic.
A mainstream just pulled off a holo! Ahh, I am kind of obsessed with this one. Its really a great holo and so rare to see done in a main stream seasonal collection.
It also has a fabulous formula and its so easy to use.
Its also like the perfect summer polish for ocean/pool water! Ahhhh!
Cabana Fever (Matte)
2 coat(s)

A bright white creme.
This one is my least favorite one in all honesty. Its a decent formula but the matte part of it dries really fast, and faster than any of the others polishes so I just wasn't thrilled.
I got full coverage in in 2 coats but I wasn't thrilled with how it looked on in matte form. Meaning it seemed a lil lumpy. However with a shiny top on it it looked fine!
Don't Be Sea Salty (Matte)
2 coat(s)
2 coat(s)
Neon pink with shimmer.
The one I could actually get to photo in a matte finish. Its such a bright and bold pink. Its really lovely and you get so much shimmer that is kind a lavender flash.
Of course it does look great matte but I love it most shiny. What do you think? Lets look at it up close.
SHINY
MATTE
Can't Sandal This
2 coat(s)
2 coat(s)
Pink/Salmon Creme.
I love this one! One of my faves and its just the perfect salmony pink and it had such a nice formula.
Its another one of the super shiny finishes one so once you add that top coat it really has a lasting glossy finish!
Thats a wrap! These polish should be available within the Month of May at your local Sallys Beauty and or Ulta. If you can not find them in person they are available online now on Sallys and Ulta as well. :) If you scroll to the very end you will find a polish guide for the collection! Its such a fun collection!
oh heck yes! obsessed with waterfalling it up!
ReplyDeleteIts such a nice sky blue!
DeleteI feel like CHG is starting to dupe themselves but at least these colors make me happy. I always love oranges.
ReplyDeleteTrue, I feel like the addition of the shimmer/matte formulas is how they can say they are different! Some times its ok especially when you can't find an older one you missed!:)
DeleteVery nice summer collection! My faves are Can’t Sandal This and Tropic of Conversation
ReplyDeleteI wonder why I never see salons with China Glaze. These shades are prettier than a lot of the OPI and Essie ones I've seen lately.
ReplyDeleteI love all of the bright shimmers in this collection!
ReplyDeleteOoooo I love the cremes but that holo!! Need!!!
ReplyDeleteMa-Holo is really nice and such a surprise from a mainstream. Boujee board is my favorite creme of the bunch. Pretty nice collection.
ReplyDeleteI really like those with the different finishes, the holo and Don't be Sea Salty. I know a couple of the others had the flakes too, but I think they look best in the pink!
ReplyDeleteI might have to track down All Sun & Games; my DH loves colors like that.
ReplyDeleteThat purple is calling my name!
ReplyDeleteHoly poop! Those purples and pinks/reds are mine - ALL MINE! Gorgeous swatches Sarah! Need to head over to your YouTube to check out the live swatches!
ReplyDeleteI want them all--your swathes are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love your swatches...but meh at the colors.
ReplyDeleteDang, I have to say that I'm kind of impressed by this collection! Those first two shimmery shades are lovely and I'm really liking that neon pink!
ReplyDeleteStunning swatches! Tropic of Conversation is my personal fav.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea by looking at the bottle that the two orangey ones had shimmer in them! Now I've added two more to my want list. =)
ReplyDeleteSo far I've only picked up the holo from this set. I hope they do a mini version!
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful swatches! This collection is so weird to me but I ended up liking a lot of the shades.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving CantC Sandal This and Ma- holo All the Time! Gorgeous swatches!
ReplyDeleteGoodness those are some gorgeous juicy shades!
