Hello and happy Friday! Today I have a very exciting and special polish release to show you and tell you about! Glisten and Glow is releasing Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Polishes along with a cuticle oil pen on October 7th at 70m EDT in honor of women who need financial assistance for treatments when going through Cancer treatment.
Jill, the wonderful creator behind all things Glisten and Glow, created this collection with her Mom who was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. As her mom undergoes treatment, they together wanted to help others who weren't as fortunate to be able to finically take care of their treatments. So 100% of the profits from this release will be donated to the Cancer Center in Connecticut where Jill's mom will be receiving her treatments. Also soon as the donation is made there will be an update on the Glisten and Glow socials/FB group letting you know how much was donated.
So now lets check out the beautiful polishes!
The Breast Is Yet To Come
2 coats
Dark Pink/Magenta sparkly shimmer
First off this polish is STUNNING! Its a beautiful deep dark magenta that also leans a bit purple with such a powerful shimmer as you can easily see in the photos! The formula was perfect and applied like a dream, so nice in fact its close to being ok in one coat.
It also looks stunning with a matte finish, the shimmer is still super strong and creates such a neat appearance that I actually love both ways equally!
Here is a quick closer look at the polish as well! Its a beauty, and I just love it, I actually wore it for 2 days the other day! Can you believe it?!
Pink is Stronger Than You Think
2 coats
Light pink creme packed with pink and copper shimmer with a light dusting of holo
You know me, I always love a creme polish and this one is so nice. Its formula was great and easy to work with plus the shimmer really adds to it and makes it a lil extra special.
It also looks really nice matte, oh and makes a great art base. Just sayin! ;)
Here you can see the shimmer really well I think and its just such a lovely shade of pink and I liked how it looked on my skin tone. My mom also wore it but she's much more tan than I am and she wasn't loving how it looked on her but she liked it on me so always something to consider when looking at swatches! Skin tones really can make a difference.
Big or Small, Save them All
2 coats
Medium Pink Crelly packed with blue, purple, and pink UCC flakies and a light dusting of holo!
Ok this polish is so neat! I love when you see blue in an unexpected polish and this polish gives us just that. Its a pink crelly base with a lovely amount of blue and purple flakies.
The formula was lovely as all of the polishes have been in this post and again this one looks really neat matte as well! Love universal polishes that look good every which way!
The slight holo in this one is also super nice and just looks so good with everything else. It just all melds well together wouldn't you say?
Fight Strong
A Fruity blend of passion fruit, guava with top notes of pink pepper and berry.
This cuticle oil pen is great and smells very fruity and fun! I love Glisten & Glow oils, the absorb so nicely and the applicator is so easy to use because its a brush!
Now on to some art because I mean you need art in your life right?! I know I did! So here I combined all 3 of the polishes and just did a dot gradation which actually came out pretty nicely in my opinion. I think all of the polishes work together nicely so that is really nice when you want to put them all in the same mani!
Plus dot gradations are always a quick answer to art. Start with bigger dots packed close together toward the cuticle. Then as you move down your nail decrease the dot size and put more space between them,
Next up of course I needed to do a ribbon that was pink because it matches the cause and because its Breast Cancer Awareness month so it all works together. I freehanded it with acrylic paint and am not 100% happy with it but I its ok enough to show you! Ha!
Well that is a wrap for today! I hope you have enjoyed seeing these new polishes and the art! You can watch a live swatch video now on YouTube which is linked below.
Final detail time!
All of these will be releasing October 7th at 7pm EDT. 100% of the profits will be donated to the Cancer Center in Connecticut where Jill's mom will be receiving her treatment.
