Hello there and happy Monday! Today I kind of have a large post to share with you! Its a swatch and review of the new Morgan Taylor Forever Fabulous Marilyn Monroe collection which consists of 12 polishes and I have swatches of all of them to show you! I really think it has a nice selection of colors in it, and there is something for everyone so lets check it out!
She's a Natural
2 Coats
A nude creme.
First off this formula is great! It applies perfectly in two coats and I just love the size of Morgan Taylor brushes too which I think is a big factor into all of todays polishes performing so well. The only thing I don't really care for about this polish is the fact that it just doesn't really work with my skin tone.
Hollywoods Sweetheart
2 Coats
A pink toned nude creme.
Next up we have a pink toned nude, and again a great formula. No issues what so ever when applying it and its a nice shade of pink.
Wrapped in Satin
2 Coats
A light blue creme with a slight shimmer.
This was probably one of my favorites of the collection color wise but sadly not application wise. So when I first took the brush out of the bottle there seemed to be a bit too much separation in the polish. Meaning clear to blue ratio. After than I put it back in and rolled/shook the bottle for probably a good 3 minutes in hopes everything would mix. I tried again and had the same luck. So application of this one on the first go around wasn't the best. The first coat was streaky and kinda just meh, but the second coat did behave the same way, however did get me to full coverage. However I did film the swatch clip a few days later and I will say it behaved much better for that so I think it kind of will fix itself over time.
Blue-Eyed Beauty
2 Coats
A periwinkle like blue creme.
Loved this dust blue/periwinkle shade. It had an excellent formula, covered almost in one coat but the second one just made it perfect.
Diamonds are my BFF
2 Coats
A silver micro glitter polish in a clear base.
This one is so great to see on video! That being said, you can almost used this as a super packed topper but also unjust 2 coats you get this full look. So really either way is great and do-able.
Ice or No Dice
2 Coats
A silvery metallic with a slight gold tint.
This is an interesting shade, kinda silver with a slight gold hint. Its formula is really easy to use and builds up in just two coats. No brush stroking or anything.
A Kiss From Marilyn
2 Coats
A red creme.
Looking for a Christmas Red?! Well this one is that and the formula was/is so nice! I'm going to use this for art for sure!
I Prefer Millionaires
2 Coats
A mauve metallic.
Love this mauve metallic shade. The color is so nice and it applied well. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the fact that it does kinda have a tendency to pick up brush strokes. Its not super bad by any means but something you want to be mindful of when applying the polish.
The Camera Loves Me
2 Coats
A deep burgundy.
Here we have just a really nice deep marsala shade. It really did apply nicely and I'm actually going to wear it under the topper I will show you next.
Some Like It Red (TOPPER)
2 Coats
A scattered glitter topper included a slight pink/red shimmer, 2 sizes of micro glitters that vary from red to pink, and some that also are holographic.
Here I have Some Like It Red on top of The Camera Loves Me, and I love this combo. This topper has a lot going on as I described in the description. It has a shimmer, it has holo, micro glitters and and overall red/pink tone. I love it and just one coat and it looks nice and even.
Wish Upon a Starlet
2 Coats
A foil deep red with a warm orange/gold shimmery sheen.
Such a nice foil red with a golden/orange shimmer sheen to it! It applied well and looks lovely on the nails as you can obviously tell. Perfect easy to work with formula.
Batting My Lashes
1 Coat
A deep brown creme.
This dark brown is so dark, from a distance you could easily mistake this for a black. Which is fine! Its formula was great and I mean this is one coat and it looks so rich and nice right?!
These polishes are now available and I'll have links below so you can check them out! So what did you think of this collection? Any favorites?!
Happy Painting!
