2 Polishes, 3 Looks + Floral Nail Art

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a fun new post for you that has some floral nail art and a look at Defy & Inspires 2 makes 3 Duo. In August Defy & Inspired released mini duos with the intention of you being able to create 3 different looks with just two polishes. So I actually picked up 2 of the sets and am just now getting around to playing with them! So lets take a look at this set!

The duos don't really have names but the polishes do! This duo is made up of Ship Happens, and Surf Shop. Like I mentioned earlier they are mini polishes. That being said I feel like they made really nice minis, they kept the nice brush in the smaller bottle which is super impressive. :) They are $5.49 which is really nice, and right now they are actually buy one get one 50% off according to the site so if you have been wanting to try Defy & Inspire polishes now might be the time. How does this Duo Work

In this you get 2 polishes, Ship Happens and Surf Shop. Ship Happens can be worn in 2 coats. Surf Shop can be worn in 2 coats. Ship Happens can be a base and then topped with one thin coat of Surf Shop. There you have it, 3 different looks!

Look 1

Ship Happens

2 coats

A cobalt blue creme.

This blue applies perfectly in 2 coats. The first coat goes on with a slight "jelly/crelly" feel but the second coat brings it up to full coverage really quickly. It dries down to a satin like finish, a top coat makes it super shiny as you are seeing above.

Look 2

Surf Shop

2 coats

A pink/purple/maueve shimmer with a light blue glow

This blue applies perfectly in 2 coats. If you have super bold nail lines you might need a third coat but I had full coverage in 2 coats and I feel like my "nail line" is fairly average. :)

Look 3

Ship Happens + Surf Shop

Here we have a look at 2 coats of Ship Happens and one coat of Surf Shop on top! Its such a pretty combo!

Now I thought it would be fun to combine the polishes for a floral because I feel like we need more florals in our life. I have photos of it shiny and matte because I couldn't decide which I liked better! :) I started with Ship Happens as my base.

Then I added all of the floral-y bits with acrylic paint. On the bigger purple flowers I used Surf Shop on top to give a shimmery look to the mani! Then I finished up the top detail. :)
