Butter London

Hello there everyone, welcome to the first Friday of 2019, honestly though this week was too short. I need a longer break, who else is with me?! Anywhooo today I will be sharing photos of the new Pantone polishes from Butter London. In case you don't already know Pantone has names Living Coral as the color of the year which I am super excited about because I LOVE a coral color any day. :) The only slight drawback I have found is that coral does not show nicely on camera, it usually shows up as an orange shade whereas its actually like a pink with an orange tone to it, or vice a versa. So lets take a look at these polishes.

Now before we get into this, lets just chat about the fact these polishes do not appear color accurate in  photos. No amount of color correction, nor changing of lighting would make this coral shade appear accurately soooo that being said I will note the colors in each review so be sure to read that because there are some variations in these polishes.

Living Coral ( Crushed Diamonds)
2 coats

A coral with a golden shimmer.

Butter London

This polish is corally in real life. A little more on the red orange side of a coral rather than on the pink side. This one's formula was really nice and is from the crushed diamond collection. Which means it has the crushed diamonds within the polishes. This is really a lovely polish just wish it showed up better in photos.

Living Coral (Patent Shine)
2 coats

A coral creme.

Butter London

This is such a nice and accurate coral creme, granted the photo is not color accurate but that is due to the fact that cameras + corals do not get along! That all being said though the formula on this was excellent.

Living Coral (Peel off Glitter)
3-4 coats

An orange micro glitter in a clear base along with some gold micro glitters.

Butter London

Remember when I said you should read all of the notes on color in this post, well this one is one of the main reasons for that. This polish/photo is 100% accurate in real life and image. Its an orange glitter. Which is somewhat a let down since its meant to be a coral but...

This is a peel off glitter which is great and I was super excited about that little factor because I love a good peel off glitter any day and everyday! That being said this polish takes about 3- 4 coats which is a bit crazy because even on that final coat you still have some nail being seen. Really this glitter would be a better topper, but then the whole concept of it being a peel off goes right out the window. So you have to build it up in 3-4 coats if you want to have a full coverage glitter peel off.

Well that is a wrap for now! All of these polishes are available now on the Butter London site here. I loved the first two, while the last one just didn't quite live up to their normal glitter peel off polishes so that was a tiny let down. Overall though, its fun and I love that they did this Pantone option for this year!

Happy Painting!

  5. I am actually pretty sad coral is the color of the year since it makes my skin look straight up green! But it is definitely pretty on others.
