Hello and Happy Monday! Today I am super excited about the blog post! This type is now my all time favorite now because of the creative process behind it, and then this week its merging with the Digital Dozen theme as well! So this months Digital Dozen theme is Vacation.Which can be interpreted in many ways, and its different for everyone, so I'm excited to see how people interpret this week.
When I think of vacation I think of warm environments. I'm not a huge vacation fan but I love staycations and luckily enough I live in a warm environment with tropical surroundings, my fave!
For my first 3 manis I have taken a color approach. Warm colors can make for some fun manis when you put them together so I did just that. First up we have a fun sunshine mani, a happy dotticure that would be super easy to do on a vacation, and then one abstract thats a very easy one that you again could do easily before going on vacation. Plus I just really enjoy wearing those sorts of manis so I tend to chose to wear those if I'm away for a bit. Now lets check them out!
1. Sunshine Getaway
First up we have the sunshine mani which makes a great mani for this theme because Tropical Sunny days are the best! I started by using 2 coats of Zoya Marcy which was originally seen in this post. Its such a vibrant and hot bold color that I thought it would be fun to capture some of the elements within in it, such as the hint of orange and yellow.
So I then used acrylic paint and painted on doodle-y suns for the art. Which I really ended up liking! Very warm and summery which is the only season I LOVE! Ha!
2. Easy Vacation Dotticure
So while this design doesn't say vacation, its a great mani FOR a vacation. Its bright, happy and simple. I always feel like when you are prepping for vacation you are running around doing a million and five different things, and when you finally sit to do your nails you need quick, and simple. Which is the perfect description of this mani!
I started with 2 coats of Zoya Bee originally featured in this post. I then used Zoya Marcy as a dot color alone with a yellow and orange acrylic paint. I mix sizes of dots, and tried to cluster them together closer towards my cuticle and then spread them out a bit more as I moved down my nails.
3. My Go to Long Term Style of Mani!
So when you are going on a vacation you have to commit to wearing your nails for an extended period of time. Which means numerous things. One you have to really like it, it needs to last, should look good with multiple outfits, and first and foremost should make you smile! So for me I've found I really like abstract manis. You can use numerous colors, nothing has to be perfect, and it can be slightly different on each nail and its ok.
For this one I stuck with the same color palette I'd used for the previous 2 manis, but I did add white. So I started with Zoya Nail Polish Snow White, then I used Marcy, and Bee for the strokes. For the lil 3 dots I used the same orange acrylic paints I used for the sun. Then topped it all off with a shiny top coat. I kinda loved it. Something so clean and elegant about it.
Well guys that wraps up my first 3 manis for the Digital Dozen's Vacation theme. Its a major swatch posting week so I've had to kinda merge some of the DD posts together and honestly I am loving this different way. If you aren't familiar with the Digital Dozen, its a groups of Nail Bloggers that get together one week each month and then post daily for 5 days, based on that months theme. Then we link them all, so you will be able to see others manis down below. :) This months theme is Vacation as you already know, and this week has already been a busy one for me which is why I merged posts, so I hope thats ok! I actually feel like I had more fun doing it this way! So 3 days out of 5 are now done! Hope you enjoyed the first 3, and I hope you enjoy all of the fun Manis linked below! :)
Talk to you Soon!
