Botanical and Geometric Nails

Botanical Nail Art

Hello and welcome back! Today I have what I am viewing as a fun post, and also a bit of a chatty post talking about some upcoming ideas/changes I have in mind. So lets first check out the botanical and geometric nails!

Botanical Nail Art

First off, just so you know... This mani has been hidden in the depths of the camera roll since like the first week of March, and those beach shots mean I haven't been to the beach since then, ok wait.... I take that back, I think I have been one time since but still, its been too long! :)

For this mani I used China Glaze At Your Athleisure that I talked about back in a post here. Its such a great polish and I might slightly be obsessed with it. Its not the same as China Glaze At Vase Value, its a hint more blue but its close enough that it will be able to take its place. My bottle of At Vase Value is so low and the last time I saw one in Sallys I personally thought the color was different so I will just use At Your Athleisure in place when I run out! :)

For the art I used acrylic paint and freehanded it all. I started the with the big leaves and created a base for them which I did with white. Once that was dry I then layered on some greens to create a more real-ish look. Once the "big" leaves were taken care of I added in the other leaves and the golden triangle so just add a lil something!

I really enjoyed the look even though the "leaves" didn't really turn out how I had hoped, but whats new. I mean really, things rarely come out the way you "picture" them honestly.

So changes... As you guys know, because I said this at the start of the year, I want to share more than just nails. I feel like I can do that on here for sure and I love when I do get to do that. The only issue I find to be tricky is 1. I get caught up in nails. I love nail art and nail polish I won't stop doing it but I tend to have all of those ideas and just share them and put my other ones on the back burner. 2. I can't seem to figure out to change my Instagram up to create a space where I feel like its ok to share more lifestyle/beauty posts WITH nail posts as well. I did introduce more other pics this year but I want to do more than that even.

Botanical Nail Art

Like this photo, this is life Shells, nails, beach, ocean, and I love it. However right now I personally feel like I can't share that on Instagram. Probably me just being in my own head and thats what I want to change. I want to create a happy medium where I can love it and you can love it too.

Botanical Nail Art

As you guys know the above photo is my "standard" mani photo that I always share on IG and I love it I feel like it shows the true mani and as a viewer I think its super helpful if I want to see the detail to just drool over or recreate lol! Yet I feel like its the photo that is holding me back on IG. I feel the need to post it but I shouldn't because, it will always be in each manis blog post.

I feel like leaving that one photo of IG will open me up to so many things. Weird I know, but what do you think? Do you as viewers mind coming to the blog for that type of photo, I know for me thinking as a viewer of other blogs I like seeing what ever pics relate to a new post on IG and then going to that persons blog to read their full post and seeing more photos and if the unclose pic is there I am fine with that.

Botanical Nail Art

Ok so I guess that was more of a me "thinking out loud" post but still. Hopefully you all can add some insight and give me a feel as to what you like as a viewer. I mean I didn't even chat about Youtube in this post but that is also going in to high gear here soon even with this week being weird. So there is just a lot coming up so its time to plan and just have fun, and bring back excitement to Instagram! :)

Well that is it for today, I hope you have enjoyed this post. I know and realize it was a different but I like chatting with you and hearing what you have to say so let me know in the comments below!

Happy Painting!

  1. Loving all the cool backdrops and props you can use on the beach. Mine would be "oh, here's me holding a scorpion, rattle snake, tarantula...here is a cacti..." :) I love the combination of geometric with foliage, reminds me of some decorative pieces I've been seeing lately.

    1. Right! The options are endless there! :) Umm you just described the backyard! Thankfully I haven't seen the scorpions but others here have so I'll just keep hoping I don't. The Snakes haven't been as lucky.
Thank you! I really liked wearing them!

  2. I'm always jealous of your art nails but now I'm jealous of your beach background too. This is a beautiful manicure and the colors look terrific together.

  3. I love the beach background! It's a fun and different way to show off your nails. I think it's a great idea to show more lifestyle pictures combined with nails. Oh and this design is so cute. I love botanical designs!

  4. It's always difficult to be spontaneous and different when you have a "style" on Instagram. I totally get your point. But just try changing it up and see how you like it. If I'm going to do a different type of post, I just try to place it (or do it frequently enough) so that my layout and style still looks visually pleasing when you scroll my page

  5. I love the more stylistic photos you took at the beach. The standard mani photo looks great too, but you really nailed the more editorial lifestyle vibe in the other ones!

  6. I love the beachy picture, and I think you should totally share it on IG! People can appreciate your nails but also get to see more about what you like to do. Also, the triangles in this mani is a great addition!

  9. This is such a fun manicure, it really gets me in the summer mood. If I were to take pictures with props found in my area I'd be holding rocks, sticks and a bunch of mosquitoes. It's way too early here for the fun stuff like flowers.

  10. I just love those leaves! I'm always drawn to plants like that.
