Tropical Nail Art + Swatches

Tropical Nail Art

Hello there! Welcome back, and guess what! Yeah that daily thing didn't work, so I have combined yesterday post and todays into a big one plus it has swatches ands a video so all is good right!? So lets do some swatches first!

So the polishes swatched today are both Defy & Inspire polishes however they are not new releases just new to me! :) One is from last years summer collection and I finally found it so I got it! Then the other is one that I got for my birthday because someone knows I love Defy & Inspire! ;)

Defy & Inspire Pop Rock Pink

Pop Rock Pink
2 coat(s)

A corally orange with a golden shimmer.

Defy & Inspire Pop Rock Pink

I love this polish and I have to say it is a bit more orangey than I usually like too! Its shimmer just shows so well, and the formula was/ is amazing! Plus in case you have never used Defy and Inspire they have such nice brushes and it just makes the polish experience so nice!

Defy & Inspire Made

Made
2 coat(s)

A pastel creme coral leaning a bit peachy.

Defy & Inspire Made

Another fabulous formula. Each coat goes on so evenly which makes it so nice and easy to use. I quite like this more peachy pastel shade because it also has enough pink in it that it look ok on my skin tone and I am really excited about!

Tropical Nail Art

First up we have this fun tropical leaf, abstract, stripe look because I didn't know what to do but I knew I felt like painting stripes and I wanted to wear Pop Rock Pink! Hehe! Oh and I was wanting to test something out on Instagram! LOL! So you know how everything over there has kind of been stinking lately? Well I noticed all of my top manis on Pinterest have stripes so I wanted to see if the same would ring true on Instagram, and actually it will also be interesting to see what happens with a new stripe look on Pinterest!

Also I noticed when I was out shopping last week that stripes are just really in right now. Like Nordstrom had a rack of just a bazillion different striped tees. I kinda want to partake in the trend but horizontal stripes just aren't flattering, anyone else feel the same?

All of the details including the stripes were freehanded with acrylic paint. I started the leaves with a white base so I could build them up with various greens. Then I added the black abstract randomized shapes, and then I moved on to the gold/white dots.

It was a fun mani to wear and actually pretty simple to do! I almost filmed it but I was testing out a new light set up and it was making me nervous so I didn't really want to test with nail art and fail! Ha, a swatch gone wrong is much simpler to deal with ya know. However I can now say that all is good and art videos will return shortly!

Next up is the last tropical mani for the Tropical theme of this week's Digital Dozen week and of course I had to end it with some palm trees, because what is a tropical week without palm trees am I right?

For this mani I had Made as my base color, and then I used the try brush method with Pop Rock Pink to create the sunset vibe background. Then on top of that I then freehanded some palm trees and they might just be one of my fave things to paint actually!

Tropical Nail Art

Well guys thats a wrap for this tropical week of manis! I hope you enjoyed them all even though I put Day 4 & 5 in one! Ha, better than skipping completely right? I honestly can't believe it is Friday already, like how is this possible, and we are almost mid August! :( This is an outrage, it was just June like 5 minutes ago! (Ok I might be being a lil OTT but...) ;)

Defy & Inspire Polish

Hope you have enjoyed all the manis this week! Be sure to check out more of the tropical looks in the links below from everyone! I have enjoyed all of the manis so much this week, and you know I love anything tropical so its just so fitting!

    1. Thank you! A stripe one is always fun! I love the idea of the chevrons but I am terrible and centering and I think its due to my nails being so rounded! LOL! We will go with that anyway!
