Hello there and Happy Monday! :) I hope your week is off to a great start. I am super excited about todays blog post because I have swatches for you of the brand new Zoya Nail Polish Jubilee Holiday Collection. Which consists of a total of 12 new polishes and some of them are super unique. Like for instance there are 2 new Pixie Dusts, and a special effect topper! So enough chit chat, lets get to the swatches.
Cookie
2 Coats
A purple PixieDust with gold flecks.
Starting off with a Pixie Dust! Cookie here is a beauty, and actually a bit more textured than some of my older Pixies but in a good way for reasons you will see later on! :)
This has a great coverage just one to two coats needed. It has a lovely sparkle too! I love the golden ones that tend to sit on your nail and not create the texture like the purple glitters do and it makes for a great sparkle.
Chiara
2 Coats
A deep purple cream.
Zoya does cremes so well and this one is just like the rest. Perfect formula, even application and such a nice shade of a rich purple.
Kateri
2 Coats
A midnight brown cream.
Real quick just a heads up, this collection is super consistent so I am going to sound repetitive as we move through this full collection! This brown was super nice and a very deeply pigmented polish.
Juniper
2 Coats
A sparkling teal textured PixieDust shade.
Juniper, a lovely deep teal Pixie with a neat blue/purple shimmer. This one was a nice formula and covered well.
For some reason these deep teals tend to stain on me so I doubled up on my base coat and was prepared. However after wearing it with my double base coat for 24 hours I removed it and was sadly left with a icky stain. I ended up being able to clean it up with some extra work of a light buffing, a scrub and some tooth paste but still was kind of a pain to clean up.
Anywhooo as you know you can of course wear this with a top coat but to get it to be 100% smooth you will probably need about 2 coats of top coat.
It really makes it pretty but I think I actually prefer it with out for the intended effect! What about you.
Danica
2 Coats
A rich deep teal cream.
Another fabulous creme with a great formula. I can't attest for if this stains or not but for the most part I can't see any signs of it, however these type of teals tend to stain so I would be a bit hesitant.
Astrid
2 Coats
A gold foil.
Astrid is a beauty and I love it. I wasn't sure at first if I would but honestly I do! It has a great formula and covers so well! If you want you can use one coat of it on something as a majorly intense topper. Or of course you can build it up nicely in 2 coats as I did here.
Its quite foil-y looking and is so festive for the holiday season.
I took too many photos of it kinda sooooo....
Leigh
2 Coats
A rich and warm cream with a peachy undertone.
This is a very nice neutral polish and has a really nice formula. Its one of those polishes tho that may not work on everyone because it is a peachy/yellow toned neutral. So you might want to see this one in person if you get a chance before purchasing.
Here it is with one coat of Astrid as an accent nail and it does look really nice together.
Carson
2 Coats
A muted nude pink cream with a mauve undertone.
Carson here has a great formula and a bit more mauve/pink toned which makes for a cozy neutral that I really liked.
Allison
2 Coats
A plum-toned ruby cream.
Allison is such a nice berry toned color. Its got a really nice formula and it is super pigmented. Its funny looking at the photos because the first one looks much darker but it just shows really how it looks because in different lighting it real life. Not that photos aren't real life but you know what I mean! Ha!
Maxine
2 Coats
A rich vibrant red cream with a slight pink undertone.
Maxine is another really pigmented polish and and its such a bold shade. It again looks different in each photo and thats because one is under a light while the other the lights are facing towards the nails. I think this actually really helped to see both different takes of the polish on the nail because really it is what you would see in real life.
Taryn
2 Coats
A fiery fuchsia micro-iridescent shimmer with blue undertones.
Taryn is so pretty and something about this polish just reminds me of a pretty party dress. It reminds me of something specific but I can't put my finger on it.
It has such a nice formula and looks so lovely on the nails. It has a really nice purple shimmer that also has a bit of a blue glow.
Now lets talk about the new special effect topper in this collection. First off its called the Leopard Spots Topper. Its meant to be used on top of a textured polish so in this case its ideal to go on top of a Pixie Dust polish. To apply it you want to do a thin coat over your whole nail rather quickly and then watch that magic happen. It then dries and retracts on the nail and turns into lil leopard spots.
Its really neat and so reminiscent of crackle nail polish which is kinda super fun! So now you are probably thinking, does it work on normal polishes, and I have the answers and actually put it all in the swatch video. So here is a little overview. In the video I show it to you 3 different ways, one on this super textured polish, then one on a less textured Pixie dust, and then one on normal polish. Of course on the super textured polish as you are seeing here it works super well! On the less textured but still textured Pixie, Godiva, it worked well, it has bigger spots tho. Then on the normal polish it acted a lil more like crackle in big spots but it kinda pulls the base polish under it with it and causes the polish to almost "buckle" for lack of a better term.
Of course you can always wear this with a top coat as I did here, and it looks good in person but doesn't photo well if you are wanting to show the detail of the spots.
Now here it is on top of Juniper, which looks really neat too!
Well that is a wrap! You have now officially seen the full Zoya Holiday 2018 Jubilee Collection! What one if your favorite, are you liking the Leopard spots topper, and the new Pixies? I think the topper is neat and its exciting to see it come out and I'm excited to see what people do with it.
These will be releasing on October 8th on Zoyas website and each polish will be $10 each. I've yet to see if there will be a set options but I will let you know if I find out! Hope you guys have enjoyed this! Let me know which one your favorite was in the comments!
Happy Painting!

Chiara and Astrid are on my must buy lists. I'm not 100% sold on the pixies, I feel like the formula changed from the older ones I currently have.
ReplyDeleteThey do seem a bit more textured than most of mine! Still a lovely look, however def going to need a few layers of top coat if you want to have it smooth!
DeleteI love gold so Astrid is my pick. Otherwise, I’m sort of missing the greens and blues
ReplyDeleteI did miss a blue in here, it has a very glam holiday party vibe I think!
DeleteOkay that leopard spot thing is freaking cool!
ReplyDeleteIt is really fun!
DeleteChiara is such a rich purple. That and Taryn are the ones I want to wear. For some reason no one at my nail salon carries Zoya polish.
ReplyDeleteIt is super rich and lovely! Oooo another great pick! Yeah I feel like most don't, I know around me there is a spa that has them but thats about it.
DeleteI'm so excited to see Zoya release teals again although I'm not thrilled to hear about one staining. I'm on the fence about the leopard spot topper- it could be really cool but I have to play with it before I have an opinion on it.
ReplyDeleteYeah I plan on trying some different things with it to see what happens! Its interesting! Me too, I've heard now tho that using a ridge filling base may help with it?! Might give that a go some time!
DeleteI’ll be eager to see if there will be any sets, like you said. I’ll be getting Carson and Allison, but I love others too
ReplyDeleteWell of course you need Allison!
DeleteWow, holiday collections already?! It seems so early! But, that leopard spot topper seems neat. I never wear textured polish though, so it probably wouldn't get much use from me haha
ReplyDeleteRight!? And I just saw a Christmas Collection sneak peek from another mainstream and ooo, I'm excited!
DeleteI pick the purples first but I think overall this is a good collection
ReplyDeleteThe purples are really great!
DeleteCookie is the real winner in this collection! But I am disappointed in the leopard spots, it is just a crackle topper. But still a fun effect polish to play with.
ReplyDeleteCookie is a star!! Yeah it is, I was hoping it would also work on normal polishes but that doesn't work so well!
DeleteI am so glad Zoya brought us more Pixie Dust formulas!!! I love that line so much!
ReplyDeleteThey are fun! I have a few that I use on a normal basis!
DeleteI love the PixieDusts! I’m also interested in Chiara...not a fan of the “leopard spot” effect, though
ReplyDeleteIts definitely not for every one! Especially if you werent a crackle fan but still kinda exciting to see brands branching out again.
DeleteI don't know if Id like quite that much teexture in my textured polishes but I do like that there is a matching creme polish in the collection for each Pixie. Sadly I'm not a fan of the Special effect topper. I have OPI's Spotted and was a bit let down by that way back when so I might be jaded.
ReplyDeleteThese do appear to be much more textured than some older ones for sure! Spotted?! Wasnt that kind of more watery looking? I feel like I barely saw that one or could never find it. it kind of gave the "hairspray/water" technique look right?!
DeleteThe spotted I bought was from Germany... I never seen it in stores around here. But yeah.. It was kinda the hairsprayed look
DeleteI was waiting to see swatches of these! I can't believe they brought crackle back, lol!
ReplyDeleteIts kind of fun I will admit!
DeleteUugh, I just love this entire collection!! It’s a really well rounded color story.
ReplyDeleteI would agree! Its fun to see some different things in it as well!
DeleteThey really are, Zoya always does amazing cremes!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous swatches. I’m thrilled to Pixie Dusts and a special effect topper on this collection.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious how similar Leopard Spots is to Barry M Croc Effect and OPI Black Spotted. I would love to see comparisons.
