Hello there, welcome back to 25 Sweetpeas. Today I want to take a moment and share some information on Hurricane Laura. As an avid Tropic weather watcher, last week I was keeping a close eye on Hurricane Laura, was it heading to South Florida, was is going to hit the US? At one point it looked like it was *just* going to be a Category 1 Hurricane, and not cause too much of a problem, however that was not the case. Hurricane Laura kept strengthening, and eventually got to a Category 4, which is considered a Major hurricane. On August 27th, Hurricane Laura made landfall on the US, Cameron Louisiana. People are without homes, without power, without running water, all during a pandemic, and all while being under a heat advisory too. Needless to say the situation in Louisiana is not good, and I feel as if people aren't talking about it. So today I am going to share what I can here on my site as I have done with past hurricanes in hopes to inform, and share ways to help.
Obviously 2020 is a rough year, and we aren't all able to help physically and or monetarily, which is completely fine! Don't stress about it, you can help just by spreading awareness and informing people as well. There are so many things going on right now in the world being covered by the news, yet I feel as if this matter has been a bit less talked than one would expect after a major hurricane, so sharing info and sources right now would be great. Major Hurricanes aren't normally this frequent, and this is a sign of climate change and global warming, and this is something we should all be talking about. So if all you can do is share info + create habits in your life to help these bigger issues like climate changes/global warming do it! Every little bit helps!
